Over time, John was able to buy Tate & Gould’s interests and continued business as John Deere in 1853. His son, Charles Deere, also joined the business at that time to help with managerial operations. In 1868, the company was reorganized and incorporated as Deere and Company. John Deere stayed on as President of the Company until 1886. A lot has changed since then! The company currently is 182 years old, is a near $40 billion corporation, and boasts over 60,000 employees.ĭeere is well known for its agricultural consumer equipment, but they also are proficient in the corporate market. They have extensive lines for the military, governments of any size, and non-profits. There is an impressive line for golf course care that includes specialized mowers, aeration equipment, and bunker rakes. ![]()
